Concrete is a sturdy material for an outdoor patio. However, regular concrete can look dull and drab in your outdoor space. You can paint a concrete patio, but it needs special attention. Patio painting can bring some unique issues. But if you take the right steps to remove the problems, you should have a stress-free patio painting event that won't cost you extra money or time.

Get ready to
stain or paint your patio for a new look!

Paint Choice
Because you’re painting a patio (an outdoor surface), you can’t use any old type of paint. Regular exterior paint will crack on a concrete surface and come right off after being applied. Many paint types work on outdoor concrete types of paint that will work on your outdoor concrete patio:

Concrete paints that are waterproof and have sealants. This paint type is made to resist grease, oil, water, and salt. This is a solid paint choice since it's purposely made for outdoor concrete surfaces and can endure the elements and numerous substances.

Water-based, oil-based, or latex exterior paints that are crafted for patios. These paints are an ideal choice since they are made for exteriors and can tolerate foot traffic.

Masonry paints that contain additional epoxies and binders. Even though it bonds terrifically with concrete surfaces, it won't shield your concrete patio from the elements.

Patio Staining
Staining concrete is a simple, quick way to renovate your dull-looking patio into a colorful and energetic surface that will make your yard more inviting. The stain is foolproof to use. You wet the patio and apply the stain. If you’re not satisfied with the results, you can go back and put on a second or third coat to enrich the color.

You can put the stain over broken concrete, but don’t expect it to cover your patio magically completely. You can still see the old drab color through the stain.

Don’t feel like being bothered with this project? Reach out to a
